England batsman Eoin Morgan tops the batting ratings, Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis is the top bowler and Australia’s Shane Watson the No. 1 allrounder.England have 127 points and are ahead of Sri Lanka, who have 126 in the rankings, announced on Monday. If England win their T20 against India at Eden Gardens on October 29, they will have a four-point lead over Sri Lanka. If they lose, though, they will slip below Sri Lanka and India.”The introduction of rankings for international Twenty20 cricket provides real context to the various series played between member countries on an ongoing basis,” England’s team director Andy Flower said. “Until now we haven’t had the chance to play a large number of Twenty20 Internationals so this will offer a benchmark as to who is performing at international level.”The next four teams – New Zealand (117), South Africa, India and Australia – were separated by only six points. The team travel to UAE to play Pakistan early next year before a two-Test series against Sri Lanka in March.It will be the first time England will play a Test match in the Middle East and Anderson believes England will need to adapt quickly to the conditions to be successful with their opponents having an inside track on what to expect.”Pakistan played Sri Lanka over there recently and played really well and won the series,” Anderson told ESPNcricinfo. “They’re used to those conditions now but we’ve never played a Test match over there so it will be a new challenge for us and we’ll see how we cope with that.”We’ve had challenges before. We went to Australia and won there, so we’ll be confident. We’ll look to see how we’re going to take 20 wickets because that will be difficult and crucial for us; the spinners might play a big part”Anderson, with fellow England bowlers Stuart Broad, Chris Tremlett and Graham Onions, is heading out to South Africa with the England performance squad for a training camp ahead of the Test series as England look to preserve their status as the world’s best Test team.”It’s been our goal to become number one in the world and we’ve got there sooner than we thought we would,” he said. “Next year is going to be really tough for us. Sánchez falou que não teve conhecimento de nenhum tipo de conversa de seus agentes com o rival Palmeiras e que, desde o começo, foi o Santos o escolhido. O volante assinou contrato por três temporadas e agradeceu ao clube pela confiança em seu futebol.

The former British Prime Minister, John Major, has resigned from the MCC committee following disagreements over the redevelopment plans for Lord’s.At the end of November the committee voted in a trimmed down plan for work on the ground, under the “Vision for Lord’s” banner, having considered radical options that included building flats at the Nursery End and making use of tunnels under the ground. The venue will now undergo a stand-by stand renovation although it won’t begin until after the 2013 Ashes.”MCC has accepted with great reluctance the resignation from the club’s committee of Sir John Major because of fundamental disagreements over the direction of policy on the Vision for Lord’s; the manner in which decisions have been reached, and their wider implications for the Club,” a statement said.Major said it had been a tough decision to end his association with MCC. “For me cricket has been a lifelong and enduring passion and it will remain so,” he said. “The solace the game has given me in good times and bad, the friendships I have made, and the sheer joy of the game will never fade.”My decision to resign from the committee of the world’s pre-eminent cricket club has been reached with very great sadness and I wish other members of the committee well in their future deliberations.”

يرى جيمي كاراجر أسطورة ليفربول، أن معاناة النادي هذا الموسم، سببها الأساسي هو سوء الإدارة المتمثلة في شركة FSG (مجموعة فينواي الرياضية).

هذا الموسم عانى ليفربول بشكل كبير، حيث يحتل المركز الـ9 بفارق 11 نقطة عن المراكز الأربعة الأولى، رغم أنهم تعاقدوا في الميركاتو الشتوي مع كودي جاكبو من أيندهوفن مقابل 44 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

وفي تصريحاته لصحيفة “TheOverlap” البريطانية، قال كاراجر: “ليفربول يمتلك لاعبين صغار سنًا، ولاعبين كبار، وهذا أمر لا يمكن أن يكون مناسبا لفريق يريد الحفاظ على هويته”.

وأوضح: “بعد مغادرة مايكل إدواردز المدير الرياضي، وإعلان بديله جوليان وارد أنه سيغادر بنهاية الموسم الحالي. وكذك إيان جرهام رئيس قسم البيانات، والسماح لأربعة لاعبين مؤثرية في الفريق بالرحيل مثل فينالدوم وأوريجي وساديو ماني على سبيل المثال. فهذا بالتأكيد يؤثر على مشروع النادي”.

وواصل: “البعض ينتقد جوردان هندرسون. ولكن سوء الإدارة هو السبب فيما وصل له النادي، رغم أن جوردان أخذ كل النقد وكان يقوم بعمله سواء كلاعب أو حتى كقائد في غرف خلع الملابس”.

واختتم: “جوردان هندرسون انضم إلى ليفربول وهو 21 عامًا، الآن يقترب من الـ32، وفاز بكل شء مع الفريق. لكن لا يجب أن يلعب كل أسبوع بسبب تقدمه في العمر، وهو ما يحدث بسبب الإصابات وسوء إدارة الفريق”.

PRESSÃO CASEIRA

Já na reta final, um lance que renderá diversos debates. Renatinho foi à rede, partindo de trás, mas o juiz considerou que Luiz Fernando, impedido, havia participado da jogada. A princípio, o árbitro anulou a jogada, quando os botafoguenses já comemoravam. Em seguida, após muita confusão e reclamações com o auxiliar, assinalou gol. Mas… Sim, teve ainda uma terceira e última decisão: o gol foi invalidado e o zero se manteve no placar sob muitos protestos da torcida e dos jogadores da casa.
