O Tubarão conseguiu a sua primeira vitória no Campeonato Catarinense, neste domingo. Com o apoio da torcida no Estádio Domingos Gonzalez, o Peixe venceu o Criciúma, por 3 a 0, em duelo válido pela quarta rodada da competição. Com o resultado, o time da casa assumiu a 9ª posição, com três pontos, enquanto o Tigre, com 4 pontos, caiu para a 8ª colocação.

A primeira etapa começou equilibrada, com ambas equipes buscando o ataque. O Criciúma não se intimidou e saiu atrás do gol, assim como os donos da casa. Sharing what he knows on the situation, Jones has made a claim involving Levy.

According to the journalist, while things are nowhere near as advanced as TMW are reporting, Levy does in fact ‘love’ the idea of re-signing Tottenham’s former fan favourite.

He explained to GMS:

“Gareth Bale, it’s an interesting one because Daniel Levy loves the idea of Bale scoring goals and having that connection with the fans and harking back to those glory days that he had.”

The Verdict: Avoid…

The 32-year-old would return to Spurs bringing far more cons than pros, namely a questionable fitness record and sky high salary as his main issues.

There is no question that Bale was once a frightening player in north London but there is a debate to be had that those days are long gone.

He finished last season’s loan spell with the third highest amount of goals and assists combined out of their squad (WhoScored), yet his availability and fitness was often a point of contention.

It is difficult to see how the winger, who has scored 183 career goals, could fit into Antonio Conte’s back-three system or play to the Italian’s famously high intensity.
