Some Rangers fans were left slamming Kemar Roofe after a bad tackle on Murray Davidson – which only resulted in a yellow card from the ref.

The challenge caused quite a stir on social media and a mass debate over whether 28-year-old should have been shown a red card instead, given that he went over the ball and stamped on Davidson’s leg, which forced the latter to go off with an injury.

Nonetheless, some members of the Ibrox faithful thought that Roofe, currently valued at £5.4m by Transfermarkt, did not cover himself in any glory whatsoever after the tackle and was eventually subbed off.

However, Steven Gerrard’s team still managed to get the three points in the end against St. Johnstone thanks to a single goal from Ianis Hagi in the opening few minutes of the second half, as the Gers edge one step closer to the Scottish Premiership title.

Na estreia do técnico Márcio Fernandes sob o comando do Botafogo-SP, a equipe de Ribeirão Preto derrotou o Mogi Mirim por 2 a 0 na tarde deste sábado, jogando em seu estádio Santa Cruz, e subiu aos dez pontos no grupo A.

Após um primeiro tempo fraco, o Botafogo acordou na volta do intervalo e conseguiu os gols do triunfo com Danilo Bueno, aos 14 minutos, e já no finalzinho do jogo, aos 47, com o atacante Diogo Campos, impondo a terceira derrota consecutiva ao Mogi Mirim.

David Moyes should unleash Jarrod Bowen in a striker position when West Ham visit Manchester United in the FA Cup on Tuesday night amid doubt over Michail Antonio’s fitness.

The Irons boss has confirmed he wishes to name as strong a side as possible at Old Trafford, as he continues to build on the east London outfit’s strongest run in the competition since 2015/16.

But Antonio faces a late fitness test to see if the striker can play his part, having been taken off with a quarter of an hour to go against Fulham on Saturday amid suspicions of fatigue.

Antonio looked laboursome at Craven Cottage as he struggled to lead the line for the second time in the space three days, after also playing the full 90 minutes as West Ham beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Wednesday night.

The Villans affair was only the third occasion that the 30-year-old has played a full 90 in any competition since returning from a second hamstring injury this term, with Moyes opting to withdraw Antonio early in four of his seven starts and twice introduce him from the bench.

Antonio was also left an unused substitute as the Hammers beat Doncaster Rovers 4-0 to book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup, but Moyes has confirmed he will make a late decision over whether or not the £11m-rated beast will feature against Manchester United.

“He’s still fatigued, so it’ll be a close call whether he makes it or not,” Moyes said. “I’ll see how he is today [Monday]. We’ll need to assess him tomorrow to see if he’s able to play or not.

“I think we’ve picked strong teams against Stockport and Doncaster. We’re certainly not picking a weakened team.

“We may have one or two changes through injury or suspension, whatever it may be, but we plan to go there with a really strong team and [see] if we can get through to the next round of the FA Cup.”

Andriy Yarmolenko was tasked with standing in for Antonio against Doncaster in the previous round of the FA Cup and scored West Ham’s second goal of the day, to net his first strike since bagging a brace against League One Hull City in the Carabao Cup in September.

It was not the only occasion this season that Moyes has started the Ukraine winger in a central role, after featuring through the middle against Tottenham Hotspur and in both Premier League meetings with Liverpool. He also took over the reins at Fulham on Saturday but offered little impact during his half an hour on the pitch.

Thus it should be Bowen who starts at the top of the attack against Manchester United if Antonio cannot, in a move that may also allow Ryan Fredericks to replicate his Aston Villa showcase on the right-wing in front of Vladimir Coufal.

Moyes has experimented with Bowen playing centrally twice this season, having looked to the £25m-rated maestro against Brighton in December while without Antonio and at home to Newcastle on the opening day of the season.

The decision did not return any goals on either occasion, but Bowen had proven to be a creative force in the middle with Hull by netting four and providing an assist in six games as a centre-forward.

He also offered three goals and three assists in six games as a shadow striker for the Tigers before his move to the London Stadium last January, which Noel Whelan lauds as a “really shrewd” piece of business by the Irons. Proving that he has the track record Moyes needs with no senior striker available after Sebastien Haller’s winter farewell.

Speaking to the press (via football.london), Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has shared that Carlos Vinicius has ‘one problem’ in star striker Harry Kane – with the Englishman a key reason why he hasn’t been afforded more opportunities in the Premier League.

Vinicius was signed from Benfica last summer in an effort to give Kane some much needed back up, but the Brazilian forward has been restricted to mainly Europa League cameos.

He is one of the top scorers in the competition with six goals and three assists to his name, putting in a dazzling display during his last outing at home to Austrian minnows Wolfsberger.

Bagging two second half goals for Spurs as they rounded off a comfortable Round of 32 victory, the Evening Standard claimed recently that Mourinho remains unconvinced by the 25-year-old’s readiness for the Premier League.

However, in a message to the press, Mourinho has confirmed his stance on Vinicus whilst revealing Kane is his only ‘problem’ – going on to confirm he will play with a heavy fixture schedule ahead.

“He has one problem, and the problem is Harry Kane,” explained the Tottenham boss (via football.london).

“It’s as simple as that. You need to be a special guy, you need to be a special heart, a special mentality, a special feeling in relation to what you mean for the team, what the team expects from you,”

“He is giving us what we want. In the Premier League he is going to play because we have so many matches that Kane cannot play every match.”

After this admission, it appears Vinicius could be in Mourinho’s plans after all – and it will be interesting to see how and when he features over these next few months.

Lauded as an ‘exciting’ player by Glenn Hoddle at the back end of last year (BT Sport via the Daily Mail), Spurs could certainly use all the help they can get as Mourinho attempts to turn the ship around.

وتقدم خلال اليوم الخامس لفتح باب الترشح لانتخابات النادي، في العضوية فوق السن كلا من:- هشام يكن حسين، عبد الله جورج عبده، هاني محمد فاروق أبو العز، جمال عبد الناصر أمين، عصام الدين حسن سيد، مصطفى سيد عبد الخالق.

في حين تقدم في منصب العضوية تحت السن، محمد علي أحمد أبو النجا.

ويتولى شريف حسين نائب الرئيس التنفيذي الإشراف على اللجنة التي تضم كل من: وليد بخيت نائب المدير التنفيذي ومدير الشئون الإدارية رئيسًا، ومحمود مأمون مساعد المدير التفيذي نائبًا.

وتقرر فتح باب الترشح وتلقي الطلبات بداية من الأربعاء الموافق 22 ديسمبر الجاري ولمدة أسبوع، ولمدة 8 ساعات من الساعة 11 صباحًا حتى الساعة 7 مساءً.

وتعيين مراقب الحسابات وتحديد مكافآته، اعتماد تقرير مجلس الإدارة عن رواتب ومكافآت المدير التنفيذي والمدير المالي، النظر فى الاقتراحات المقدمة في الموعد القانوني، الموضوعات الأخرى الواردة في جدول الأعمال.

أشاد مدرب منتخب إسبانيا السابق، فيسنتي ديل بوسكي، بأداء ثلاثي الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي ريال مدريد كريم بنزيما وتوني كروس ولوكا مودريتش، في الموسم الحالي.

Southampton were perhaps a little too easily convinced into selling Harrison Reed to Fulham in the summer, and it looks to have been a big mistake when you consider the lack of options Ralph Hasenhuttl currently has in central-midfield.

Reed played a key role in Scott Parker’s side earning promotion to the top-flight last season, making 28 appearances and averaging a solid 6.73 rating.

He has continued to be a vital cog in the Fulham midfield this season, with 21 Premier League appearances to his name, in which he has averaged a 6.69 rating.

Although Southampton have struggled with a lot of injury issues this season, it would have been sensible to keep Reed at the club, considering they had just James Ward-Prowse, Oriol Romeu and Ibrahima Diallo as senior central-midfield options.

Hasenhuttl has recently lost Diallo to injury, and it was confirmed that Romeu is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury, which has seriously emphasised their lack of squad depth in midfield.

Youngster Will Smallbone was also ruled out for the season with injury, which has led to the Austrian manager turning to academy talent Alexandre Jankewitz on occasion.

However, the 19-year-old was sent off just two minutes into his full Premier League debut, so having a more experienced player such as Reed would definitely have been helpful to Hasenhuttl in the current injury crisis.

During his time at Southampton, he certainly won over some more senior players with his performances, with Shane Long dubbing the youngster “immense” after his performance in a 3-0 win against Everton.

Considering the 26-year-old has plenty of experience in the Premier League and Championship in his career, you could definitely argue that, at the moment, he is a better player than Jankewitz – who has just three senior appearances to his name at Southampton.

Therefore, Hasenhuttl arguably made a mistake by selling him to Fulham for just £8 million during the summer, as he would surely have been a very useful option to have in midfield this season.
